Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement explains how Mud Masters B.V. handles the personal data of ticket buyers and visitors and/or participants in events organized by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS and users of its services. MUD MASTERS attaches great importance to the collection and processing of your personal data in a careful and secure manner.
The buyer of a ticket for a MUD MASTERS event, the visitor to a MUD MASTERS event, the participant in an event organized by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS (including obstacle runs) and the user of MUD MASTERS services are hereinafter referred to jointly as “the user” or “you” in this Privacy Statement.
Data controller: Mud Masters
Mud Masters B.V., located and doing business at Europalaan 500 in (3526 KS) Utrecht (KvK number: 54517680), hereinafter “MUD MASTERS”, is responsible for collecting and processing your personal data. MUD MASTERS is thus the data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) and related implementing laws.
Our Websites
MUD MASTERS manages a number of websites organized by or on its behalf, whether or not linked to the use of apps and social media. These websites (and any apps and social media) are collectively referred to as “the Websites” in this Privacy Statement.
In general, MUD MASTERS can collect data from you, including when you subscribe to a MUD MASTERS newsletter as a user, when you purchase a ticket for a MUD MASTERS event, send an email to us, or have made your information publicly available via or using our Websites, social media, or any other public platform. The information that MUD MASTERS receives in doing so is used to provide our services, to improve them, for marketing purposes and to provide our users with a good and personalized service.
The way in which MUD MASTERS collects data MUD MASTERS can receive information from you as a user in the following ways:
Directly from you as a user — for example, when you send us an email with a question or use our customer service, in the event that you create a personal account on one of our Websites, fill in your details or upload a photo to the Website (s) to easily find yourself in the footage of MUD MASTERS or participate in any competition or giveaway organized by MUD MASTERS.
Through our Websites — for, among other things, the exercise, improvement and registration of our services, MUD MASTERS collects various data via our Websites, including the use and use of cookies. If you give us separate and explicit permission, MUD MASTERS can also receive your personal location data (we can and may also process anonymized location data without permission).
Through third party websites — MUD MASTERS also uses the services of third parties. These third parties then act on behalf of MUD MASTERS. This Privacy Statement also applies to the data collected via the websites of these third parties when they act as processors on behalf of MUD MASTERS. This includes selling tickets online for events organized by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS via the websites of our ticket partner (s) or our photo and/or time registration partner who make your photos easy to find by means of name and/or facial recognition, among other things. Our ticket partner (s) and other MUD MASTERS contractors can also collect data for their own purposes via their websites. MUD MASTERS is not responsible for the collection and processing of data that is not commissioned by MUD MASTERS. To do so, you need to contact the third parties involved. In this regard, please refer to the privacy policies and terms of these relevant websites and platforms.
At our events — MUD MASTERS can also process data from participants and/or visitors at the events that it (co) organizes or has organized, such as registering (parts of) the event (with camera) for commercial and/or security purposes. In other words: you can be recognisably captured during an event in image and/or sound made by MUD MASTERS photo and/or videographers, media, partners and visitors.
The data that MUD MASTERS collects
MUD MASTERS can process various user data, including personal data. The data that MUD MASTERS can collect from you as a user is:
- contact and account information — such as name, address, telephone number, email address, customer number, number of tickets purchased;
- payment and billing information — when you purchase a ticket for one of our events for financial processing and administration;
- app and Website data — such as IP address, your unique device identifier, traffic and location data, and what you've done on our Websites. For more information about the use of cookies, please refer to the MUD MASTERS cookie policy later in this Privacy Statement;
- information posted publicly by you - such as personal comments on our Websites, including blog or “after” pages, or to social media posts posted by or on behalf of us or photos that you post of yourself on our Website (s) in order to find yourself in the MUD MASTERS footage;
- information about your personal preferences;
- image/and/or sound material, in which you can be recognisably captured — such as (photo and/or video) recording of a (part of a) event for commercial and/or safety purposes;
- special information - in case you are disabled, we want to make sure you enjoy an optimal experience of our events. In order to meet your accessibility requirements, we collect information about your needs. This may include information that you provide to us about your mental and physical health, including the use of special medicines, when you apply for a disabled place; and
- information about minors — in the few cases where we, as MUD MASTERS, collect personal information from minors, we always seek permission from parents and/or legal representatives and will always collect and process such information only for the purposes specified at the time we collect it.
Reasons why MUD MASTERS uses data
MUD MASTERS can use the aforementioned data for the following purposes:
To execute our agreement with you as a user - MUD MASTERS uses your data when you enter into an agreement with us, for example to purchase a ticket or product, to purchase a service, so that we:
- be able to process the order;
- be able to accept payment;
- be able to provide you with customer service and after sales;
- be able to verify you as a ticket holder at the entrance, also to prevent fraud with your ticket and black trade in tickets;
- to be able to quickly identify you as a ticket holder in the event of emergencies, partly in the interest of your safety;
- to provide you, as a ticket holder, with personal photo and video service, including the ability to find yourself in the MUD MASTERS footage.
For our legitimate business interests — for example:
- conduct market research and analysis to improve our events and services;
- for our own marketing and promotional purposes, such as registering our events to use those image registrations in promotional photos, videos, posters, etc. and joint (co-branded) promotions with partners (sponsors);
- to provide you, as a user, with information about offers, products, services and events organized by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS. For example, to send emails with information or alerts about the event you purchased a ticket for or other similar events by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS;
- to send customer service emails, such as reservation confirmations and event reminders and ticket sales for our events, both through MUD MASTERS and the ticket partner;
- to prevent or detect unlawful behavior, to protect or enforce our legal rights, or otherwise permitted by law. For example, we value that tickets come into the possession of loyal visitors and real fans. As such, we may also use your information to help prevent abuse of our intellectual property rights (e.g., our brands, logos and/or partners), fraud, or other crimes.
Your data as a user will not be used for purposes other than those mentioned above. If you no longer want to receive messages from MUD MASTERS, you can easily unsubscribe. More information about this can be found under the heading “Your choices and rights as a user” in this Privacy Statement.
For which consent has been given by you
By agreeing to the MUD MASTERS Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement when purchasing a ticket for one of our events, you give us permission:
- to contact you as a user with information or offers regarding future similar events by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS. This can be done via email, push and web notifications, SMS or social media. You can change these personal marketing preferences at any time, see the section “Your choices and rights as a user” in this Privacy Statement below;
- to provide you, as a user, with services based on your location — such as through our Websites (and any apps) that allow you to see yourself on the map. We may use your location to send you push notifications about what's happening around you;
- to deliver customized (target) advertising and marketing communications on our Websites (see also our Cookie Policy for more information);
- to process your health data to meet your accessibility requirements — if you are disabled and/or taking special medications and choose to share this information with us.
You can withdraw the consent you have given at any time. In that case, please contact us at service@mudmasters.nl.
MUD MASTERS also shares data with third parties
- within the group of MUD MASTERS affiliates who provide services for us such as marketing, profiling, reporting and technical support;
- our external service providers (also known as data processors), such as cloud computing providers, who provide the IT infrastructure on which our products and systems are built and provide additional services at our request (such as our photo and/or time recording partner);
- our co-promoters and event partners who organize or provide specific services at our events (in accordance with their privacy statement and terms). If these co-promoters and event partners want to use images outside the event and/or MUD MASTERS, where you are clearly in the picture, we have obliged the partner concerned to obtain your explicit consent;
- third parties who provide products and services purchased by you (e.g. merchandise) so that they can process and fulfill orders;
- government agencies or other competent authorities where permitted or required by law.
Third-party websites
With the exception of the third parties mentioned above, this Privacy Statement does not apply to third-party websites and platforms, such as the websites or apps of MUD MASTERS sponsors referred to by MUD MASTERS or social media buttons on our Websites that allow administrators of these social media services to collect your personal data. MUD MASTERS is not responsible for the privacy policies and terms of third-party websites and/or platforms. MUD MASTERS advises you to take note of the privacy policies and terms of these third parties, as published on the relevant websites and/or platforms.
Your choices and rights as a user
As a user, you can always request, modify and (have) changed or deleted your data if necessary. This can be done in various ways:
- Where appropriate, you can change your account and preferences with our ticket partner (s) yourself;
- where appropriate, you can log into our Websites to change or delete your newsletter details and, after the relevant event in which you participated, to completely disable the personalization of our Websites;
- Furthermore, at the bottom of each message you receive from or on behalf of MUD MASTERS, the option is offered to unsubscribe from the mailing list, so that you no longer receive information from or on behalf of MUD MASTERS;
- you can also switch on and off via the settings of your device/device (such as your mobile phone) whether you want to share location data or receive push notifications from or because of MUD MASTERS;
- To manage your cookie preferences, please refer to our Cookie Policy later in this Privacy Statement.
You have the right to object to the processing of your data by MUD MASTERS and to amend the information you provide. You also have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. Maintaining your information
MUD MASTERS does its utmost to ensure that your information is properly secured. Only those persons for whom it is necessary because of their position have access to users' data. MUD MASTERS has taken appropriate technical measures and they are regularly updated to ensure that data is properly secured. But: the internet is never 100% secure. Therefore, make sure that you, as a user, also take the necessary security measures yourself and never provide your password to anyone else, especially no strangers.
MUD MASTERS does not store data longer than necessary to provide the services you have requested. We will securely delete your information when it is no longer needed for these purposes, in accordance with our company policy.
When data is possibly transferred outside Europe, strict rules apply to ensure that your data is still protected to a high level. If MUD MASTERS would do that, we will ensure that the necessary security measures are taken. When your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use one of the mechanisms below. Standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission are:

MUD MASTERS Cookie Policy
MUD MASTERS may use cookies on its Websites. With this cookie policy, we provide insight into and an overview of the different cookies that MUD MASTERS can use.
Functional cookies
MUD MASTERS uses cookies that are essential for the functionality of the Websites, such as cookies for registering or consenting to cookies and remembering your language preference.
Analytical cookies
MUD MASTERS uses analytical cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies, to understand how the Websites are used, with the aim of gaining knowledge about the interests of visitors/users and to continuously improve the Websites and make them more user-friendly. For example, it records how long visitors/users stay on a certain page, how often a page or artist is clicked, and also whether a particular link does not function properly.
MUD MASTERS has, where appropriate, concluded a processing agreement with the relevant third parties for the use of digital measuring instruments (including Google Analytics), whether or not through the intervention of third parties. This agreement ensures, among other things, that the cookies of those third parties (including Google Analytics) are set in the most privacy-friendly way.
Advertising cookies
Cookies can also be used by or on behalf of MUD MASTERS to test the effectiveness of advertisements so that we can show the best and most relevant offers.
In order to adapt the advertisements on our Websites to your interests as much as possible, MUD MASTERS also uses advertising and retargeting cookies. By using these cookies, we try to get an idea of your likely interests based on your visit to and use of our Websites, without creating a profile that can be traced back to you. Based on these interests, we can show you relevant ads. If you do not consent to the use of advertising or retargeting cookies, you will see other, possibly less relevant ads.
Social media cookies
MUD MASTERS can use social plug-ins to allow visitors/users to directly share an event with friends via Facebook or Instagram. This plug-in is subject to the privacy policy and terms of Facebook and Instagram, which you can find on their websites and/or platforms.
Setting preferences
If you choose not to consent to the use of cookies, or delete them, this may reduce the quality of use of our Sites. You can change your cookie preferences and delete cookies via your browser setting.
All information collected on our Websites with cookies is anonymized as much as possible.

Changes to the Privacy Statement
MUD MASTERS expressly reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Statement. Users are advised to regularly read the MUD MASTERS Privacy Statement themselves for changes. If MUD MASTERS makes significant changes to its Privacy Statement, we will inform you as a user about this and, if necessary, we will also (again) ask for your permission in the event of significant changes in content.
