With which organizations does GYMRACE work?
GYMRACE works together with various organizations and charities. GYMRACE isnā€™t involved in organizations like Hyrox or Crossfit. Allthough Hyrox and Crossfit are great ways to get fit for GYMRACE.
Is GYMRACE accessible if you are not (yet) extremely fit?
Yes. We love it when you take up the challenge and GYMRACE triggers you to train more. Our ā€œentry-level modelā€ is the buddy category. You share the workload at the stations with your buddy. You decide how to distribute this. That can be '50/50' or else. This is a great way to get a buddy over the (starting) line.
How long does it take for GYMRACE and is there a 'cut-off' time?
The average finish time is 1 hour 20 minutes. There is no cut-off time. You can finish your race at any time.
Are there rules?
Yes, there will be a rule book including the ā€œmovement standardsā€ per station. Indicate if you are not yet able to perform all exercises according to the rules. You are welcome to participate, but we will adjust your finish time/score in the results list. This is how we keep the competition and results fair together.
Are there any prices and results lists?
Yes, a race includes prizes and results. There are prices for each SOLO and BUDDIES category. Information about the prizes and awards ceremonies will be announced before the event. Don't forget: it's about your performance! The most important thing is that you show up at the start.
When will I hear my start time?
Your start time will be announced a few weeks before the event. Depending on the number of participants per category, the schedule for the event day is created.
Where can I find the race briefing?
The race briefing and all event info will be shared well before the event via this website and by email.
Are spectators welcome?
Yes, definitely. Spectators are welcome, with banners, cameras and vuvuzelas, but without animals (unless you consider yourself a ā€œbeastā€). Spectator tickets can be purchased at the ticket shop (tickets only required for spectators aged 18 or over).
Is there a changing room, cloakroom and showers?
There are changing rooms, but there are no showers in the complex. There is a wardrobe where you can drop off a (small) sports bag. You can pick up your bag right after your finish.
Who organizes GYMRACE?
After many requests, GYMRACE is organized by the Mud Masters team, which has been passionately organizing major sports events in the Netherlands and Germany since 2012. After our first indoor event in 2019, we return to the Utrecht Jaarbeurs with the friends of UnScared Fitness, Concept2 and Lifemaxx.
Is there a drinking station on the course?
Yes, there is a drinking station that you will pass regularly. During the run, you may bring your own food and drink. If you start with a ā€œfull tank,ā€ there is no need for most athletes to bring anything. No personal drinks or food may be placed near the course, or indicated by spectators.
Is there first aid?
Yes, there is a first aid station and there are mobile medic teams.
